PHILLIPS SUPPORT PELICAN CANCER FOUNDATION
PHILLIPS SUPPORT PELICAN CANCER FOUNDATION

2 May 2018

Phillips Solicitors are proud to support Pelican Cancer Foundation as its charity of the year and help fight against “below-the-belt” cancers.

Based at The Ark Conference Centre, in the grounds of Basingstoke hospital, the charity’s aim is to advance precision surgery for bowel, liver, prostate and bladder cancers.

Prior to supporting the Foundation, Phillips worked with the Ark Cancer Centre Charity, which is also based at The Ark, as its chosen charity for two years.

The move follows Phillips’ Senior Director Howard Gardener joining the charity’s board as a Trustee.

Howard said: “I felt absolutely honoured when I was asked to become a Trustee.”

“The Foundation does a splendid job focussing on curing bowel, liver, prostate and bladder cancers as well as and improving the quality of life for patients.”

“A lot of its funding goes towards clinical trials, ensuring that people living with cancer can benefit from the latest treatment.”

“We at Phillips hope to help raise not only funds for the charity to help with this work, but also raise its profile locally as it has a worldwide reputation as a centre of excellence, bringing clinicians together to learn from each other and collaborate to fight cancer and help improve cancer care.”

Sarah Crane, Chief Executive of Pelican Cancer Foundation said: “We are extremely grateful for Phillips support. It is only thanks to the help of local companies and individuals that we can make such an enormous difference for today’s cancer patients through our education and cancer research.”

“Pelican is a small charity with an enormous punch and we really enjoy working with our partners and supporters to continue helping patients live well for longer.”
