Careers

The continuing success of our client-focussed business depends on attracting the highest calibre of people, whether our requirement is for a graduate looking for a training contract, a qualified fee earner with years of post-qualified experience, or a member of our support staff.

Working with Phillips

We offer plenty of opportunities to work on high-quality legal matters, within a friendly and supportive firm that has ambitious growth plans. Our focus on growth and our modern attitudes mean we are always looking for the very best people, committed to giving exceptional service to our clients. You’ll be part of a friendly and dynamic firm where there are opportunities to develop your career. Your legal skills are crucial, but so too is your approach to our clients.

Working within a director-led team, you will be supported by the time and resources needed to progress your career in the direction you want to go, or within your specialist area, acquiring the skills and expertise to meet our clients and your own personal expectations. We employ skilled, enthusiastic people who we think you will enjoy working with and we equip them with the latest technology.

Our culture

The culture at Phillips is one of continuous growth and development, not only in terms of the expertise and the services we offer, but also in our engagement with the local community.

Phillips strives to remain the leading law firm in Basingstoke and north Hampshire, offering only the highest quality of legal expertise and exceptional client care to every person that requires our services. At Phillips we understand that this can only be achieved by putting our clients and our community and the centre of our thinking.

Trainee solicitors

We generally recruit two trainee solicitors every year. Trainees are given the opportunity to work in several of our legal teams, enabling them to gain valuable hands-on experience and client contact.

Please see below for further information about our training schemes and the application process.

Trainee legal executives

The role of Legal Executive forms an important part in our firm and the service that we give to our clients. We employ fully qualified Legal Executives, several of whom have completed their studies whilst working at Phillips.

Please note that any personal data provided in the course of your application will be processed in accordance with our Candidate Privacy Notice.
