PHILLIPS RECOGNISED AS A LEADING LAW FIRM IN THE LEGAL 500

16 September 2017

For the seventh year running Phillips Solicitors is recognised as a leading law firm in The Legal 500.

Its inclusion in the UK’s guide to the top law firms confirms that Phillips is one of the best in Hampshire and is described as a “truly professional one-stop shop.”

The firm based in London Street, in Basingstoke’s Top of The Town, is recommended for its Family, Wills and Probate, Employment and Commercial Property teams.

Seven of the firm’s lawyers are given a special mention in the 2017 edition of the directory.

Senior director Howard Gardener, who heads the Family Law team and is an accredited mediator, is described as “an astute and excellent advocate.”

Gill Brown, who heads the Employment team is described as “adept at handling employment cases that intersect with corporate and commercial work,” while senior associate and experienced litigator Karen Bristow is described as “excellent.”

The head of the Wills and Probate team Caroline Wallis and director Jonathan Pender who heads the Corporate and Commercial team are also given a special mention.

Howard, who was one of the founding members of the firm 31 years ago, which now employs around 50 people at its Town Gate offices, is delighted with the news.

He said: “This is well deserved recognition for the firm and our departments and the individuals named.

“I would like to thank all of our employees for their hard work, professionalism and contribution to the continuing success of Phillips.”

He added: “The Legal 500 is the definitive guide to the best law firms and lawyers in the country. To have such a glowing endorsement of the work we do is fantastic.

“Everyone in the firm should be very proud of what we have achieved, which ultimately ensures that our clients receive the very best service possible.”
