Get to know...

Jacqueline knows what businesses want from legal advice. She likes to use her legal toolkit as an enabler and to help mitigate excessive risk.

Jacqueline spent the first 8 years of her legal career at major international law firm Freshfields, on IP/IT, commercial and data protection work, corporate transactions (specialising in carve-outs and transitional services) and some litigation.

She has more recently broadened her experience as General Counsel and executive and Senior Legal Team member at an independent international spirits business.  Key focus areas included:

  • contracts for strategic B2B partnerships, a new pipeline of bulk alcohol sales and international sponsorship and events;
  • managing a significant trade mark portfolio;
  • setting up a US business;
  • IT/digital and intragroup agreements;
  • corporate governance;
  • IP and data protection;
  • implementing legal operations; and
  • team and business growth, management and strategy.

Jacqueline has proven experience in balancing legal, commercial and strategic considerations and making judgement calls in ‘grey’ areas, and managing competing demands of stakeholders at all levels, under pressure.

She draws on her experience advising a diverse range of businesses. She also knows what it’s like to be the client from her role in her family’s farming and estate management partnership.

She is also an ex-teacher, i.e. a master communicator/negotiator!
