Free ‘Pink Envelope’ Initiative to Safeguard Vital LPA Documents on World Alzheimer’s Day

To recognise World Alzheimer’s Day on Monday 21 September, we have launched the ‘Pink Envelope’ initiative to help families protect and locate important legal documents when they are needed most.

The firm is offering free, highly visible Pink Envelopes, designed to store Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) documents safely in one recognisable place.

When someone begins to lose mental capacity, finding important paperwork can become an added challenge for family members and carers. The bright Pink Envelope ensures that LPA documents are securely stored in one place and instantly recognisable. This means family members won’t have to search through piles of ordinary white envelopes and household filing to find the authority they need to help their loved one.

Over 1 million new LPAs are now created each year in the UK*. This is a significant increase from the historic average of 800,000 to 900,000 registrations, reflecting growing awareness of the importance of future-proofing (which is what we at Phillips are all about). Despite this, it is estimated that more than 85% of UK adults still do not have an LPA in place.
