An evening of friendly competition and community spirit brought the local business community together at Elai.
Phillips Law hosted a highly successful charity quiz night on Wednesday, 12 November, at Elai, with proceeds benefiting The Pink Place, a vital local charity supporting women affected by cancer.
The event saw an impressive turnout of teams from across the business community, who gathered to test their knowledge across a diverse range of challenging rounds while enjoying exceptional cuisine prepared by Elai’s culinary team.
The atmosphere throughout the evening was electric, with teams strategically deploying their joker cards across various rounds, from general knowledge to specialist subjects. Participants showed both competitive spirit and genuine camaraderie, all united in support of The Pink Place’s important work.
Craig Killick, Trustee of The Pink Place, said,
“The Pink Place relies on donations from local individuals and businesses, and, as its charity of the year for 2025, the support Phillips Law has given us has been phenomenal. Not only have they helped raise awareness of The Pink Place, but they have also raised many thousands of pounds from events such as this quiz.
With rising costs and funding pressures, this money is essential to our small charity so that we can continue to deliver excellent cancer wellbeing services that are not only very much needed but also very much in demand. This year alone, we have supported over 150 local women with cancer.
Community is about action – making things happen – and Phillips Law have very much delivered for us this year. It’s something we never take for granted and are so very grateful for.”
After a closely contested competition featuring multiple rounds of brain-teasing questions, Team Finli from Thames Valley emerged victorious, demonstrating impressive knowledge across all categories.
Theresa Coutts, Associate at Phillips Law, shared,
“We had an amazing time at our recent charity Quiz at Elai restaurant. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with other local businesses while raising funds for such a worthy cause – The Pink Place. Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the event a great success.”
Most importantly, the event raised over £1750 for The Pink Place, funds that will directly support women facing the challenges of cancer diagnosis and treatment. Phillips Law extends heartfelt thanks to all participating teams, Elai for their outstanding hospitality, and everyone who contributed to making the evening such a resounding success.
