Phillips Law Becomes BFA Advisor Member

20 March 2026

Phillips Law is pleased to announce that the firm has become an advisor member of the British Franchise Association (BFA), the UK’s largest and most influential trade association for franchising in the UK.

The BFA works to promote ethical franchising across the United Kingdom, setting high standards for franchisors and professional advisers who support the sector. Being an advisor member shows the BFA recognises us as a firm that demonstrates specialised knowledge and a commitment to best practices within the franchise sector.

Strengthening Our Franchise Law Expertise

Joining the BFA is just another sign of Phillips Law’s ambitious plans for the future and reflects the firm’s commitment to providing expert legal advice to franchisors and franchisees, whatever their legal needs.

The application was led by John Miller, who explained:

“Franchising is an exciting and growing sector for many businesses and a sector I have had the privilege to be part of for more than 20 years. Becoming a member of the British Franchise Association reflects our commitment to supporting franchisors and franchisees with clear legal advice throughout their journey. I am delighted that Phillips Law has joined the BFA and look forward to building further relationships within the franchising community.”

A Practical and Commercial Approach

Franchising presents unique legal and commercial considerations. From initial planning and brand development through to expansion and long-term growth and from the franchise agreement to areas such as data protection, employment and property, our solicitors understand this and provide specialist advice tailored to the unique circumstances of franchising. With experience working in private practice and in-house, our real-world perspective allows us to provide advice that considers not only legal risk but also the commercial realities of operating a franchise network.
