TAKE A BREATH, EVALUATE AND THEN TAKE A STEP FORWARD
TAKE A BREATH, EVALUATE AND THEN TAKE A STEP FORWARD

23 January 2018

Today’s theme for Family Mediation Week is “Take a breath, evaluate and then take a step forward.”

The week, which runs until Friday January 26, is organised by the Family Mediators Association (FMA), and is supported by Phillips Solicitors and its sister company Town Gate Mediation.

If you visit www.familymediationweek.org.uk/category/blog/ you will find some blogs focusing on children and what mediation can do to help families who separate to take children’s views into account.

One of these comes from the charity Voices in the Middle and is called “My advice to parents is to never argue in front of your children.”

You will also find an audio file here where a young woman called Catherine talks about her parents’ combative divorce and how it affected her life.

In addition, a short video called Child Inclusive Mediation has been put up online today.

You can view it by visiting www.familymediationweek.org.uk/video/

Mediation is one of the most sensible and cost effective ways of resolving family problems when a couple’s relationship has broken down.  Separation and divorce usually involve a major crisis for a family and emotions may run high, especially if there are children to consider.

If you would like to get in touch with Town Gate Mediation, which is a sister company of Phillips Solicitors, please call our Mediation Administrator Dawn King on 01256 854627 or email [email protected]
