Legal 500 law firm, Phillips Solicitors, have been shortlisted for the prestigious Law Society Excellence Awards, in the category of Medium Law Firm of the Year. The Excellence Awards are the highest accolade for law firms in England and Wales.
Commenting on the nomination, Phillips Director Max Hope said: “We are delighted to be shortlisted by The Law Society for this award. The past 18 months have been a busy and exciting time for us with our focus on consolidation through the merger with Brain Chase Coles, the acquisition of Henley’s Solicitors, and at the same time continuing to recruit high quality lawyers who are able to broaden and strengthen our services to clients. A big thank you goes to our clients who supported our nomination.”
Phillips Director Jack Gardener said: “Being shortlisted for the Law Society Excellence Awards is a real testament to the hard work and dedication of our colleagues who provide a first-class service to our clients. A key part of the quality and consistency of our service through the pandemic has been our focus on mental health and wellbeing. Our emphasis on staff engagement and positive and open management has helped us to emerge stronger. Fresh air has also never been more important, and Phillips are proud to continue our sponsorship of the Basingstoke Half Marathon and maintain our close relationship with our local community through Destination Basingstoke.”
Law Society of England and Wales president I. Stephanie Boyce said: “Congratulations to all those who have been shortlisted. After an extraordinary year, it has never been more important to celebrate the outstanding work of our profession.”
“Solicitors play a vital role in times of crisis as people turn to trusted professionals, to explain the law, advise them on their rights and their obligations, and give them some sense of certainty.
“As the country emerges from the pandemic, solicitors will be there every step of the way to help people and businesses get back on their feet and ensure access to justice and the rule of law.”
The winners will be announced in an online ceremony on 7 October.
