BASINGSTOKE INDEPENDENT BUSINESS MONTH
BASINGSTOKE INDEPENDENT BUSINESS MONTH

23 July 2018

Independent Business Month has certainly shown what a vibrant business community we have here in Basingstoke.

Organised by Basingstoke Together Business Improvement District, the campaign that is running throughout July, shows that our town has a wide variety of fantastic independent businesses.

As part of the campaign Basingstoke Together commissioned 18 videos produced by Face TV, that have given business owners the opportunity to showcase their unique contributions to Basingstoke and show the important role they play within our local economy.

At Phillips Solicitors we are very impressed with the quality of the videos including ours, featuring senior director Howard Gardener. In our video Howard talks a little about the history of the firm and the services we offer as well as our involvement with Destination Basingstoke and being the headline sponsor of the Phillips Basingstoke Half Marathon.

To view Howard’s interview click here.

The videos include long standing businesses such as Basingstoke Service Centre, The Lime Leaf and Carey’s Family Barbers and Hairdressers to more recent arrivals like Festival Street Kitchen, Hair Lab, Yobu and Cool! Merchandise along with THAT Gallery which is an artist led pop-up exhibition showing and selling the works of over 40 local artists.

These videos can be seen via the Basingstoke Together website and its YouTube channel.

At Phillips we are keen to help our local businesses by providing the legal advice they need.

Good legal advice is important for any business. It enables business owners to understand the legal consequences of their business actions, protect their business and legal interests, help them with smarter business decisions and avoid any unnecessary legal problems.

For those thinking of starting a new business we can help you choose the right business structure, register your business with Companies House create non-disclosure and shareholders’ agreements, deal with employment contracts, draft terms and conditions for your contracts, including online transactions, and provide general advice so that you comply with the relevant laws and regulations.

Whether you already have a business or if you are thinking of starting one, it is always better to get advice sooner rather than later.
