What We’ve Been Up To at Phillips Law

February has been a busy and rewarding month at Phillips Law. From supporting community initiatives and charity fundraising to sharing important legal updates, our team has been involved in a range of activities both inside and outside the office.

Here are some of the highlights from the past month.

Supporting the Knight Frank Schools Triathlon

This month we announced that Phillips Law is a regional sponsor of the Knight Frank Schools Triathlon, supporting events taking place at Charterhouse School and Marlborough College.

The Schools Triathlon is one of the largest fundraising sporting series for children in the United Kingdom. It supports the international development charity Restless Development, which empowers young people around the world to lead positive social change.

The events give children aged 7–13 the opportunity to swim, cycle and run as part of a relay team while raising funds for charity. We are proud to support an initiative that encourages teamwork, confidence and leadership in the next generation.

Lisa Perry’s 2026 Running Challenge

Partner, Lisa Perry, has also taken on an inspiring challenge this year. Lisa is participating in 12 major running events throughout 2026 to raise funds for Victoria’s Promise, our Charity of the Year.

Victoria’s Promise supports young women facing cancer, helping them through treatment and beyond with practical and emotional support.

Lisa has already completed several events and will continue the challenge throughout the year. Her commitment is a powerful example of the dedication shown by our team when supporting causes that matter to our community.

Baking for a Cause: World Cancer Day Fundraiser

To mark World Cancer Day, our team organised a charity bake sale in support of Victoria’s Promise.

Thanks to the generosity of staff across the firm, the bake sale raised £164.30. Every donation will help support the charity’s vital work assisting women affected by cancer.

A big thank you to everyone who baked, donated and took part.

Legal Updates: Changes Coming in April 2026

Alongside our community initiatives, we have also been sharing guidance on important legal developments that will take effect in April 2026.

Employment Law Updates

Changes introduced under the Employment Rights Act 2025 include updated statutory rates and extended whistleblowing protections. Employers should review policies, contracts and internal procedures to ensure they remain compliant.

Inheritance Tax Changes

Proposed reforms to Agricultural and Business Property Relief could have significant implications for farming families and business owners. Reviewing estate planning arrangements now may help families prepare for the future and protect their assets.
