About the Compliance On-Boarding Verification Team

The team is a newly established part of the firm, created in response to its continued and steady growth of the firm. It is led by Steph, has over 30 years of experience across various areas of legal practice. Steph brings a wealth of knowledge, a supportive leadership style, and a passion for mentoring others.

Although the team is still small, it is close-knit, collaborative, and ambitious. Team members are eager to learn, open to feedback, and always looking for ways to improve how they work. With a strong focus on development and innovation, the team is committed to embedding best practices and helping to shape the future of the function within the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the client onboarding process by gathering, reviewing, and recording identification and verification documents in line with AML regulations.
  • Carry out initial and ongoing client due diligence checks using electronic verification systems and open-source research.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance records, ensuring all documentation is filed in accordance with data protection requirements.
  • Monitor shared inboxes and respond to compliance queries or escalate them where necessary.
  • Assist in tracking training attendance and compliance with internal policies across the firm.
  • Help to prepare documentation for internal audits or regulatory inspections.
  • Support the development and maintenance of compliance policies, templates, and guidance materials.
  • Stay informed on compliance updates and help circulate relevant regulatory changes or firm policies internally.

Person Specification:

  • Previous administrative experience, ideally within a professional service or legal environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Discreet and able to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive and willing to learn about compliance and regulatory frameworks.
