We are delighted to have been shortlisted as a finalist in this year’s A Place to be Proud of Awards for the Business and the Community category.
Organised by Destination Basingstoke, the annual awards recognise volunteers, organisations and other members of the public making a difference in the Basingstoke area.
The Business and the Community Award, sponsored by Basingstoke Together Business Improvement District, is one of 10 categories and is the only one that will be decided by a public vote, which closes on Tuesday 30th June.

We have been involved in the Basingstoke Half Marathon since its inauguration in 2011 and have been headline sponsor since 2014. Last year we extended our sponsorship until 2022.
For many years Phillips has chosen a local charity of the year, including Ark Cancer Centre Charity and Pelican Cancer Foundation, where we have provided support through fundraising.
This year our colleagues picked Sebastian’s Action Trust, which is a respite holiday home in North Waltham, as our chosen charity.
We also support various other charities with fundraising activities and sponsorship, including St Michael’s Hospice, Basingstoke Music and Arts Festival, the Silchester Fun Run, Treloar School and College Christmas Fair and the Salvation Army’s Christmas Present Appeal.
In addition, we support the Rotary Club of Basingstoke as a Business Partner and Basingstoke Consortium with their various events.
Hayley Eachus, who is a director at Phillips, said: “We are so pleased to have made the shortlist for the Business and the Community Award.
“At Phillips we’ve always believed in getting fully involved with our local businesses and community, whether it is being the headline sponsor of the hugely popular Destination Basingstoke Phillips Half Marathon and 10K Run, or arranging the rota and attending the pro bono service we set up for Citizens Advice Basingstoke, offering free legal advice to members of the public.”
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year the awards presentation will be a live streamed virtual event in July. The date is to be confirmed.
