Residential Conveyancing Legal Secretary/Assistant
Residential Conveyancing Legal Secretary/Assistant

Phillips Solicitors is a leading Hampshire law firm based in Basingstoke and is going through a period of growth.

We have a vacancy for a full-time Residential Conveyancing Legal Secretary/Assistant.

Here at Phillips we are an energised team who are passionate about:

  • attracting and retaining the brightest and most positive colleagues to work with;
  • being the regional law firm that clients want to work with for the quality of our advice and our people; and
  • being a place where we love coming into work.

Phillips has a strong client base with a substantial amount of work coming in from repeat clients or their referrals. We are a key member of the local business community and strive to be the market leader in the region. Our culture is one of continuous growth and development, not only in terms of the expertise and the services we offer, but also in our engagement with the local community.

In your role, you will:

Work in the Residential Conveyancing Department, which has a thriving team of 16 staff, including two Directors, with supporting fee earners and assistants.

The role will involve a high volume of typing, taking telephone messages, filing and assisting as required.  The use of our case management system is essential – full training will be given to those who are not familiar with this particular software.

This position will suit someone who is well organised and energetic and who enjoys working in a busy team, interacting with clients, agents and other third parties.  The successful candidate will be part of a team of support secretaries/assistants for a fee earner within the Department and will also work closely with other team members.

PC literacy is essential, with expertise particularly in Word, Outlook and Excel.

Previous knowledge of residential conveyancing is essential, and an enthusiastic and willing approach to new challenges is required as new processes and business opportunities frequently call for changes to processes.

We look to recruit individuals who are ambitious, enthusiastic and willing to take a lead on client matters and business development. This is an exciting time for Phillips as we look to further build our experienced team of excellent lawyers and support staff.

As well as being part of a highly reputable law firm, Phillips offers a company pension scheme, cycle to work scheme, a group life assurance scheme and discretionary bonus. In addition, there are regular social events, a running and walking club, weekly fruit and free entry into the Basingstoke half marathon of which we are headline sponsors.

We are offering a competitive salary dependent upon experience and ability.

Phillips is an equal opportunities employer committed to equality and diversity within the workplace.
