Front of House Receptionist
Location: Basingstoke
Role: Full time/Part time

We are an award-winning law firm based in Basingstoke, dedicated to providing exceptional legal services to our clients. We pride ourselves on our client-focused service, and we are seeking a Front of House Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our firm.
Role Overview:
As the Front of House Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, visitors, and colleagues. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our front of office and meeting rooms operate efficiently and professionally while delivering a warm and welcoming experience to everyone who walks through our doors. In addition to front-of-house duties, you will assist with a variety of related administrative tasks to support our team. We are looking for a full time role holder, but are open to those seeking reduced hours to cover an afternoon rota and also flexibility can be offered in covering mornings at times of holidays or sickness.
Key Responsibilities:
Front of House Duties:
- Greet and welcome clients and visitors with a professional and approachable demeanour.
- Manage the reception area, ensuring it is clean, presentable, and welcoming at all times.
- Be mindful of health and safety, removing risks for slips, trips and other risks and also explain our policies around fire alarms, meeting points etc.
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and inquiries promptly and courteously, directing them to the appropriate person or department.
- Manage meeting room bookings, ensuring smooth coordination.
- Maintain security by following procedures and ensuring that every guest, whether a client, contractor or any other visitor is checked into the building, and checked out on leaving.
- Referring to a written standard, maintain checks intra day relating to the standards within the meeting rooms, adjoining corridor, waiting room and reception.
Administrative Support:
- Assist with general front of house visitor administrative tasks, including data entry.
- Co-ordinate incoming and outgoing mail and courier services for other colleagues to be able to manage the mail in and out of the business.
Key Skills and Attributes:
- Professionalism: Ability to always represent the firm with a polished and professional demeanour. We expect our front of house receptionist to be well presented and maintain a suitable dress code for a legal services business.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal Skills: Friendly, approachable, and adept at building rapport with clients and colleagues.
- Organised and Detail-Oriented: Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Multitasking Ability: Capable of managing multiple front of house and meeting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable learning new systems.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Familiarity with administrative processes and office equipment.
- Experience in a law firm or similar environment is an advantage but not essential.
